Transportation system in Moscow

Moscow is the capital of Russian Federation and one of the most developed cities in the whole country. The city attracts many tourists, as well as businessmen. It is one of the greatest destinations for Russia travel.

Moscow has a well developed transportation system. First of all there are several airports in the city. Railway system is also well developed , as Moscow is the starting point of the Trans-Siberian railway system. Tourists can travel in the whole country using the railway system, which will take them to the farthest point in Russia. There are many flights to Moscow from every Russian city and many global capitals.

Tourists can use public transport, while their stay in the city. The most popular of which is the Moscow subway that is the main transport used by local population. It is not convenient to travel in Moscow by car, as you will have to spend hours in traffic jams.

Moscow subway is also considered one of the most popular sights in the city. The subway stations are often called “Moscow underground palaces”. During the building of this subway various types of marble and other rocks were used, among them labradorite, granite and others. The first subway station was put into operation in 1935. The domes of some stations are decorated with mosaic panels and many other beautiful elements of décor. Some of the stations are under the protection of Russian government, as they represent the epoch of Soviet Russia, especially the period from 1930-es to 1950-es.
