Every visitor to Moscow is irresistibly drawn to the Red Square, the historical and spiritual heart of the city. The Red Square is closely connected with the historical past of the country, as it is the place where numerous events took place. The Red Square came into being during the reign of Ivan III. The Red Square served as Moscow’s meeting place, where people used to crowd to meet friends or to hear government announcements. Many of Moscow hotels are next to the Red Square.

Moscow Manege is one of the most remarkable buildings in Moscow. It is located next to Manege Square. The Moscow Manege was designed by a Spanish engineer. Manege is a unique building, as it has no internal roof support. The roof rafters rest on the external columns of the manege, providing area for the riders to work. Manege served as a place where horsemen could show and develop their skills. In 1831, Manege was converted into an exhibition place and an art gallery. In 2004 great fire destroyed most parts of the Manege, but it was soon reconstructed.

Poklonnaya Mountain is a significant war memorial. It was established on the 23 of February in 1958 to commemorate the victory of Soviet people in Great patriotic War (World War II). The opening of the memorial took place on the 9th of may, 1995. The Poklonnaya Mountain is the most significant memorial that was erected in honor and in memory of the war.

Restaurants in Moscow

There are many ways to visit Russia, like Russian River Cruises or land tours, but Moscow must be included in any Russia travel itinerary.

Restaurants of different kinds are located in Moscow. The city is rather big, but in every corner of it, you can find not only restaurants, but also cafes, bar and clubs welcoming visitors.

The restaurants in Moscow offer dishes of different cuisines: Russian, French, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Georgian, and Italian. There are few restaurants in Moscow offering Thai cuisine, but you can easily find some.

Japanese restaurants are popular among Russians. These restaurants gained popularity since late 1990-es. Most Russian young women visit these kinds of restaurants to try sushi, famous Japanese dish. These restaurants compete with Italian and French restaurants.

Georgian cuisine is one of the most popular among various ethnic food presented in Russia. Georgian cuisine is much spicier than the Russian one. There are a lot of big and small Georgian restaurants offering the best dishes.

Russian restaurants offer really great variety of dishes for any tastes. Tourists can chose among Russia and European cuisine.

There are also fast-food restaurants in Moscow, such as McDonalds or TGI Fridays. McDonalds was first opened in Moscow in 1990-es. McDonalds offers to the visitors wide range of food: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken McNuggets and pancakes of all kinds. Tourists will find everything they like in all fast-food restaurants.
