Moscow Architecture

Moscow has an old history. Suzdal prince Yuri Dolgorukiy founded the city in the middle of the 12th century. Many historical monuments were built during the centuries. Moscow combines best pieces of old and modern architecture.

One of the peculiarities of Moscow is the fact that it has never had a style unity as other “cities- museums” like St. Petersburg, Athens and others. So you can find buildings of different styles standing side by side.

When you travel to Moscow make sure you visit the Kremlin. The Kremlin is the most popular historical monument of the city, as it witnessed many historical events. The first thing tourists want to see, when they come to Moscow is the Kremlin. The subjects of tourist’s special attention are the murals, frescos, and icon stands of the Kremlin Cathedrals, that have no analogies in the whole world.

Moskva hotel is also regarded as a historical monument. It is located in the Ohotny Ryad Street, just several meters away from the Kremlin. The hotel represents Russia’s past and present. Moskva hotel is one of the most famous attractions in Moscow, as many prominent people stayed there during its history. Kitai- Gorod is another historical monument of Moscow, which was established centuries ago. From the earliest days, the district has become a trading quartier with high medieval walls. Nowadays it is also a business area of Moscow. It is mostly known today for its magnificent Art Nouveau buildings. The Merchant Court was built in a Neo-classical style and was used for balls and exhibitions. Medieval abbeys and churches, standing in this area also attract a lot of tourists from different parts of the world.
