The Museum of Modern Art was opened in Moscow in 1999. The museum is located in the 18th century building, designed by architect Matvey Kazakov. The museum of private collections in Moscow is located near Pushkin Museum. The museum was established in Moscow by the initiative of Ilya Zilbershtein, a collector of fine art. Works of 16th - 19th centuries are represented there; they include works of Ilya Repin, Vrubel and Serov.
